In fact, the video mentions how a growing number of Kenyans order cars from Japan which are then shipped to Mombasa. Faster bandwidth may provide the means of connecting to the sites, but e-payment systems are still in the early stages. The biggest challenge may actually be trust rather than technology. PayPal generally won’t accept Kenyan payments due to security reasons. Start-up mobile payment systems require a degree of faith from the user that the payment will actually find its intended recipient.

Additionally, online shoppers must be cognizant of security features. Only relay billing information over a secure connection, and be sure to log out of public computers.
